Greetings. I am Seong Jun Ahn, President of the Lumbar Spine Research Society.

I extend my deep gratitude to all members, former presidents, and the dedicated officers of the Lumbar Spine Research Society, which serves as the central pillar of spine research, for giving me the opportunity to lead this Society.

Lumbar spine disorders not only constitute the highest proportion of cases in spinal surgery but are growing increasingly important as our society enters an ultra-aged era. Through continuous, in-depth academic research and the sharing of clinical experience, the Lumbar Spine Research Society has worked to introduce and disseminate rational, evidence-based approaches to lumbar spine disease treatment, bringing the standard of lumbar spine care in Korea to the forefront globally.

Inheriting the legacy of previous presidents, I will strengthen academic exchange and research capacity to systematically organize and disseminate the latest surgical techniques and principles in our rapidly changing medical environment. We will work to ensure that our members' research activities translate into concrete clinical outcomes and receive fair recognition, while providing rational evidence for various contested standards.

Our annual international symposium will continue to actively promote exchange with renowned international scholars and fellowship programs, establishing a foundation for our Lumbar Spine Research Society to assume its role as a global leader beyond the Asian region.

We also aspire to create an open society where all members can freely share opinions and exchange the latest knowledge across institutional boundaries and regions. We will particularly encourage the participation of young physicians to secure the future vitality and momentum of the Society.

I will listen carefully to your valued opinions and do my utmost to ensure that our Society becomes a steadfast pillar that leads the advancement of spine surgery and provides the highest quality care to patients.
