AOSpine Asia Pacific Fellowship

As the leading global academic community for innovative education in spine care, AOSpine not only organizes courses and forums suited for different participants, but also sponsors many of our members to international, regional and national observational fellowships.

AOSpine fellowships provide the following benefits:

Fellowship Criteria

An AOSpine fellowship applicant must fulfill the following criteria:

• Be a member of AOSpine

• Be a graduate of a spine program or be in an orthopaedic or neurosurgery residency for at least two years.

• Have previous participation in an AO course

• Have previous experience of spine related instrumentation

• Have not participated in any other AO fellowship within the past two years

• Preferably to have published at one to two spine/orthopaedic/neurosurgery related articles

• High proficiency in English

During the Fellowship

The fellow is expected to follow the daily routine of the clinic and should be available for emergencies at night and on weekends. Active participation as scrubbed assistant should be possible for long-term tenures.

Temporary leave of absence needs approval from the head of the clinic. If, for some reasons, the fellow wishes to change the placement or leave prior to completion of the allotted period, permission must be sought from the head of the clinic, and the AOSpine Regional Board.

Post Fellowship

Upon completion of fellowship, the fellow has to submit the following document within 30 days:

• Post-fellowship feedback form (with AOSpine Template)

• Complete fellowship log book (with AOSpine Template)

• Fellowship report (~500 words) with photos to post on AOSpine website

• Each fellow will receive the fellowship certificate from AOSpine upon completion
